What’s the key to finding plus size blouses that fit and flatter?
It’s called: knowing your body.
When you know what works on you and what doesn’t, what fits and what doesn’t, you can create a head-turning look that garners respect whatever your size.
Don’t be like most plus size women who either buy clothes for their largest part and hide the rest of their body in a tent, or buy clothes that are too small that they pucker, bind, or show rolls. Instead, be mindful of your whole body when looking for clothes so you can accentuate the positive and camouflage the negative.
With that in mind, here’s what to look for when buying plus size blouses:
1. The Shoulder Seam Sits at Your Pivot Bone
Put your right hand on your left shoulder and raise your left arm straight out. The bone you feeling moving is your pivot bone. That’s where your blouse shoulder seam should be. If it falls higher on the shoulder or lower on the arm, it doesn’t fit correctly.
2. Bustline Doesn’t Gap
You should be able to button blouses easily with no gaps or puckers. If it does, it’s doesn’t fit.
3. Bust Darts Point to Bust Point
The bust darts should point to, but stop within 1†of, your bust point.  If they don’t or if they’re in a strange place, it’s not right.
4. Silhouette Skims Waist
Your blouse should taper in at the waist to skim your midsection and follow your body contours. If it hangs straight down, it will make you look wider.
5. Blouse Shape Matches Body Shape
If you can’t remember anything else when you’re out shopping, remember this: match the blouse shape to your body shape. It will give you the best results.
