Women’s Bras for Hard-to-Fit Sizes
Finding a comfortable bra that fits well and feels good can be a challenge for women who wear regular sizes, but for women who wear unusual sizes, it can be downright impossible.
My grandmother, for example, was probably about an H-cup. But since the discount department stores where she shopped (JcPenney, Montgomery Ward, Sears) didn’t carry anything above a double-D, she’d bend over, strap herself in to the DD, and walk around all day with her torpedo-shaped bustline bursting at the seams. The straps would dig into her shoulders and her back often hurt. But in her mind, she didn’t have any other option. She wouldn’t go without, and she never considered custom.
These days, fortunately, if you’re hard to fit – whether large or small – you don’t have to go around all day in an ill-fitting bra. The Internet makes finding hard-to-fit sizes easy.
